RAPFX
RapFX was a rap music portal and community that I developed in 2003. The site was fairly active and had over 1,000 members before I took it offline. Later in 2005, I revived the project and made the easiest $2,000 ever.
I teamed up with a fellow partner and let him handle the development of the site. I had discovered a way to get good rankings in most search engines with ease. I got #1 for the term “Rap Music” on MSN Search and was in the top 20 for the term “Rap”. The site was growing quickly and within a week, we sold the website to GeorgeMedia LLC for $2,000. I did this quite often when I was younger, I’d call it “flipping websites” – I’d get a top spot, increase traffic, reoptimise the advertising, increase revenue and then make a multiple return on my investment.
